The pattern that started it all. Crocheted in the round, you will soon have a beverage coozie featuring your favorite sports team’s colors.

materials

US H Hook / 5.00mm

#4 Weight Yarn in three colors. I used:
Color A: Impeccable Solid Yarn by Loops & Threads in Pumpkin
Color B: Lion Brand Heartland in Sequoia
Color C: Impeccable Solid Yarn by Loops & Threads in White

Fabric Scissors, Crochet Needle

Optional (for lining and additional insulation): Fleece and Fabric Glue

abbreviations

CH: chain
SC: Single Crochet
ST / STs: Stitch, stitches
SL st: slip stitch

pattern notes

Each new row begins with a CH 1, and SC into the same stitch as the chain

Once bottom of the coozie is formed, SC are in the back loop only. This makes for cleaner lines with the color rows

Pull the magic loop tight to close

Continue around with 2 SC in each ST (14 stitches), SL st to join

Row 3: Ch 1, 2 SC in the same ST, SC in next ST

Weave in all ends!

If adding fleece, read on.

that extra layer of insulation

Using Fabric Scissors, cut a small rectangle of fleece that is enough to tightly wrap around a regular-sized can, and is approximately 3” tall.

Turn finished coozie inside out.

With Fabric Glue, adhere the cut fleece to the coozie approximately three rows from the top.

When dried, turn coozie right side out. Check the fleece lining attachment for gaps or wrinkled sections, and put additional drops of fabric glue where needed. Put a room-temperature full can inside the coozie to adhere the final fabric glue to the crocheted coozie. Leave to dry overnight.

The next day, cheer on your team with style!
